India. Indian students have been studying MBBS in Taras Shevchenko National
University of Kyiv from 2017 session only. This means that a batch with Indian
students is yet to pass out from Taras Shevchenko National University. We
cannot comment of the passing percentage from this university.
However, Taras Shevchenko
National University of Kyiv is a top-ranked university and has been ranked as
the number 1 university in Ukraine for many years. Also, it is the third oldest
university in Ukraine having been established in 1834.
Located in Kiev, it is one of the three MCI recognised colleges in
the capital city of Ukraine. The other two being Bogomolets National
Medical University and Kyiv Medical University. This university is
undoubtfully one of the best for MBBS in Ukraine.

Rankings, the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv world ranking in
2020 is 541-550. However, as stated by Global Medical Foundation on several
occasions, these world rankings have no relevance while selecting the medical
university for MBBS abroad.

For Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv admission as an
Indian student, you need to fulfill the following eligibility criteria:

Entrance Exam in
India
|
There is no
entrance exam in India like IELTS/SAT, etc. NEET qualification is a must.

Age
|
The student must
be at least 17 years old as on 31st December of the year in which the
admission is being taken.

|
Board
|
The candidate must
have completed class 12th from a regular and recognised board.
|
|
Marks in class
12th
|
The student must
have 50% marks individually in Physics, Chemistry and Biology in class 12th.
The student must have studied Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English as
compulsory subjects in 11th and 12th. The board should be a recognised one.

NEET
|
You need to
qualify NEET for admission in any MCI recognised medical university in
Ukraine. NEET is valid for 3 years from 2018 onwards.

Passport
|
The student must
hold a valid passport.
|
After reaching the university, there will be an entrance exam which
needs to be cleared. Some students might fail in this exam and won’t get
admission then. They will have the option to take admission in some other
university. We would ask you to keep another university as a back in case of
the unlikely scenario that you fail the entrance exam.
Course
Duration
The total duration of the
MBBS course at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyivis 5.8 years, which
is the same as all the other universities teaching MBBS in Ukraine.
The first 3 years are
pre-clinical where 20% of the teaching is practical training and the rest is
theoretical. After this, the students appear for KROK-1 and upon clearing it,
the students move to the 4th year. The final 3 years is the clinical phase
where all the classes will be held in different hospitals depending on the
subjects being taught to the student at the point of time.
After completing the course, the student needs to clear KROK-2.
Once this is done, the student will be awarded MD Physician degree which is
equivalent to MBBS in India. The student can then come back to India and appear for the licensing exam or go for licensing exam of any other country.
