UV Gullas College of Medicine is an MCI and WHO recognised private university. It was founded as the Visayan Institute in 1919 which was later given the status of the University of the Visayas in 1948, making it the first university in Cebu. The College of Medicine of UV Gullas was established in 1977 with the approval of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports. A good number of Indian students are currently studying at in this college. Majority of the students are from South India. While trying to find the FMGE result 2012-18 of UV Gullas College of Medicine, we found that none of the Indian students pass out from here between 2012-18. The university has 9 campuses in Cebu.

The course duration is 5.5 years which includes the pre-medical program. The MBBS program in the Philippines is called MD whereas the pre-medical program is called BS. For MBBS in Philippines, you cannot get direct admission in the MD program after class 12th. First, you need to complete the BS program which is of 1.5 years in UV Gullas College of Medicine. After this, you need to clear NMAT and then you will get admission in the 4 year MD program which is equivalent to MBBS in India. The entire course is in English language. Since the local language in the Philippines is also English, you will not have to learn any other language.

Hostel Facility

UV Gullas College of Medicine offers hostel facility to all its international students. Hostel premises is safe and secured with 24×7 CCTV coverage.  There is in-campus and separate hostel for boys and girls. Both north and south Indian food is served three times a day. Strict discipline is followed for International students. The hostel has all the facilities that Indian students require for a comfortable stay. There are separate study areas for boys and girls. This helps the students to prepare for their exams and assignments. The in-campus hostel offers air conditioned rooms as per the requirement of the students.

Indian Mess

There is Indian mess facility at UV Gullas College of Medicine. The mess offeres varities of Indian dishes with both North Indian and South Indian food available. UV Gullas College of Medicine mess has Indian chef who prepare Indian food for the students. Non-veg food is strictly prepared by Halal method.

Eligibility Criteria
For UV Gullas College of Medicine admission, the following is the eligibility criteria for an Indian student:

Entrance Exam in India	There is no entrance exam in India like IELTS/SAT, etc. NEET qualification is a must.
Age	The student must be at least 17 years old as on 31st December of the year in which the admission is being taken.
Board	The candidate must have completed class 12th from a regular and recognised board.
Marks for General Category students	The student must have an aggregate of at least 50% in Physics, Chemistry and Biology and must have English as a compulsory subject.
Marks for Other Category students	The candidate must have an aggregate of at least 40% in Physics, Chemistry and Biology and must have English as a compulsory subject.
NEET	You need to qualify NEET from 2018 onwards for admission in abroad. NEET result is valid for 3 years from 2018 onwards for MBBS abroad admission.

 Admission Process

This is the admission process for the students who apply after completion of class 12th and have qualified NEET:

·         Send scanned copy of 10th mark sheet, 12th mark sheet, NEET result, passport to Global Medical Foundation.

·         We will get your admission letter from the university and send it to you.

·         Transfer fees to the university’s bank account.

·         Submit original documents to Global Medical Foundation for visa process. We will provide you the list of documents.

·         You will have to give personal interview at the Embassy of the Philippines in India. Getting the visa is subject to clearing the interview.

·         On successful clearance of the interview, the Embassy will issue your visa and you will go to the Philippines for your MBBS studies.

·         FMGE result is not available as Indian students haven’t passed out from University of the Visayas yet.
